We proudly announce the joining of Dr. Samir Kumar Das, of Calcutta University, as Chair Professor, Ganga Governance Studies at Amrithagiri Research Foundation. Prof. Samir Das would be leading Amrithagiri Research Foundation (ARF) in all its activities connected with River Ganga Governance and empowerment of village communities. He would be addressing seminars and conferences on topics of contemporary relevance and on the polity, society and culture related to river Ganga.
Dr. Samir Kumar Das, a Professor of Political Science at the University of Calcutta and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of North Bengal, is renowned for his impactful work in democratic governance, ethnicity, and migration. His global contributions include collaborations with the Social Science Research Council and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Through extensive research, teaching, and international engagements, he has shaped the academic landscape and influenced policy frameworks worldwide.
