Amrithagiri Himalaya (AH) is a holistic movement dedicated to harmonizing human development with nature, culture, and consciousness. Guided by the principles of sustainability, AH addresses key areas such as environmental protection, health and nutrition, education, tourism, and interdisciplinary research.
In collaboration with universities, social reformers, environmentalists, and naturalists worldwide, AH works to translate ancient wisdom into modern solutions. Every initiative aligns with India’s national missions and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), making AH a model for integrated, compassionate, and sustainable progress across the Himalayas and beyond.
Aligned with Mission LiFE (SDG 13 – Climate Action; SDG 15 – Life on Land), AH actively promotes ecological restoration through afforestation, watershed management, river rejuvenation (notably the Ganga River Restoration Studies), and the conservation of biodiversity. Its eco-conscious village models inspire harmony between humanity and nature.
Nurturing life in the Himalayas through health, nutrition, and knowledge – building strong bodies, aware minds, and compassionate communities.
In harmony with Ayushman Bharat (SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being), Amrithagiri Himalaya (AH) promotes holistic wellness grounded in nature and consciousness. By integrating Ayurveda, yoga, natural nutrition, and modern health education, AH encourages a culture of preventive healthcare and balanced living. Each initiative aims to strengthen the body, enlighten the mind, and awaken compassion — creating resilient Himalayan communities where health is not merely the absence of disease, but the presence of harmony between self, society, and nature.
Supporting NEP 2020 (SDG 4 – Quality Education; SDG 5 – Gender Equality; SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), AH works to document and preserve India’s spiritual, temple, and cultural heritage. Through its cultural expeditions, educational programmes, and collaborations with scholars and Akhadas, AH bridges ancient wisdom with modern consciousness
Aligned with Swadesh Darshan and Incredible India Missions (SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities), AH promotes eco-spiritual tourism across the Himalayas, encouraging responsible travel that uplifts local communities, supports artisans, and protects natural and sacred ecosystems.
Through the Amrithagiri Research Foundation (ARF), AH advances interdisciplinary studies combining environmental science, social development, spirituality, and indigenous knowledge systems. ARF collaborates with leading universities and scholars to publish research, develop policy recommendations, and nurture future leaders in sustainable and spiritual development.
