World Hindu Conference 2025

Our motto and guiding principle is the philosophy of the purely enrapturing and all embracing “Vasudeva Kudumbhakom” which treats all the world and its inhabitants as one. This   has inspired us to plan for a  conference on Hinduism in 2025.At this conference we wish to bring together Hindu thinkers and scholars from across the world to present papers and give lectures on any topic relevant to our noble cause of Hinduism.

Ganga Aarti - The Spectacular Ceremony

As part of the River Ganga Project initiated by the University of Kerala in association with Amrithagiri Himalaya,Dr Girish Kumar R ,HOD,Dept of Political Science,University of Kerala and Sri Denny Amrithagiri, Chairman Amrithagiri Himalaya participated in the Ganga Aarti as chief guests  at Satrugna Temple Matt.

National seminar on
“The River Ganga:
Ecology, Culture, Governance and Security"

A national seminar was organized by the department of defense studies and Geopolitical studies and the Department of Political science at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University- HNBGU- Srinagar to address the cultural, ecological, governing and security aspects of River ganga, on the Seventeenth of September 2024.

At the seminar, Dr Girish Kumar R, HOD Department of Political Science, University of Kerala delivered a thought provoking and enthralling key note address emphasizing the urgent need for collective action to protect the River Ganga .He highlighted the intricate relationship between Ecology, culture, Governance and security stressing that effective solutions require an interdisciplinary approach. While appreciating the efforts of the HNBGU in undertaking various projects related to the conservation of river ganga, he also spoke about the various ongoing government schemes and plans. While many of these plans have roped in universities and IITs for their effective implementation,not all have been able to attain optimum yields. Dr.Girish Kumar emphasized the need for more academic interventions specially by way of research and documentation, community engagement and education, policy recommendations, international collaboration and funding and Resource mobilization to bring about sustainable solutions to the Ganga river issues.

While answering the questions raised by the participants Dr Kumar also explained that the threats to security raised by China is a cause for serious concern as well as the problems posed by the river Perse to the people on the banks .He advocated for strenghthened institutional frameworks , enhanced community engagement and transparent decision making processes The speech would go a long way in fostering collaborative networks and partnerships, develop innovative context specific solutions and engage policymakers and stakeholders.

Dr kumar also stressed the need to bring into the picture NGOs like Amrithagiri Himalaya to conduct community awareness programmes in order to understand the pulse of the people and to bring about tangible changes in the attitude of the people living in the Gangetic plains so that they adopt a no holds barred approach to the sincere efforts of such agencies and co operate whole heartedly. He pointed out that that the GRAMSAMBARK programme being organized by Amrithagiri Himalaya is a one of its kind initiative to be undertaken by any organization and expects it to pay off well. Dr Kumar also called for the establishment of a Ganga Knowledge centre at the University that would focus on multi disciplinary studies and build a knowledge repertoire on Ganga. The programme had as its guest of Honour Sri Denny Amrithagiri,Chairman, Amrithagiri Himalaya.

The seminar was well attended by students and teachers alike. Prof H.C Nainwal, Dean, school of Earth Science, Prof. Prasanth Kandari, Department of Economics, Prof J.P. Bhatt, Department of Sociology, and Prof. Ashutosh Gupta, Department of Sanskrit were the others who presented papers. Er BInesh Bhatia was the covenor of the programme, Welcome address was by Prof Y. P Ralwani, Director, IQAC. After a very engaging Q and A session the seminar was wound up with the Presidential Remarks offered by Prof Himanshu Bourai and Vote of Thanks by Dr Naresh Kumar.

Gramsambark  programme

Mould the kids to mould the nation!

A one of its kind Gramasambark programme was organized at Neelkanth Mahadev Shishu Vidya Mandir School by Amrithagiri Himalaya in association   with Neelakanth Mahadev temple.It was attended by students of various schools,parents, teachers and the villagers.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Girish Kumar, HOD, Department of political Science, University of Kerala. The Grama Pradhan  Sri Sandeep Kumar,Avinash Nautiyal,President of the school,Vikash Kapoorwan,Vice President, Sri Denny Amrithagiri,Chairman Amrithagiri Himalaya, Chandu Payal singh ,Manager, Amrithagiri, Sri Santhi Prasad Bhatt Social worker,Sri Avi Yadav, Akanda Bharat Seva , UP and other dignitaries participated in the Gramasambark programme.

The programme  achieved  its set goal of understanding the challenges of  the students and teachers  and getting a first hand account of  the struggles and trials that the inhabitants of the village  were subjected to in the course of their daily life.The villagers of Miral  became vocal about their issues.

Sri Mahipal Singh Thakur, President of Amrithagiri Ashram Himalaya handed over a cheque of Rs 1,00000/ Rupees one Lakh only being  the fund for running the school and for the basic development work pertaining to the school for the current year.It may be noted that Amrithagiri Trust has been financially supporting  the school for the last three years in line with their social responsibility initiatives, along with the Neelakant Temple.

As expected the Gramasambark programme was received well  by the villagers and it is hoped that Amrithagiri will be able to expand its activities  using the inputs from the programme, to bring about sustainable solutions for the villagers’ survival issues.

Amrithagiri would be utilizing the data obtained from the programme to get into meaningful and productive  alliances with other Governmental and Non Governmental agencies to execute  the major Village Development plans and Ganga River protection  plans. Other than putting in place its own schemes and projects for the betterment of  the villagers ,Amrithagiri wishes to align with all possible Government  initiatives like Clean Ganga Plan,NAMAMI etc to bring about changes in the education status,health status,and overall upliftment of the villagers.
